Chun Dance was founded out of Director HSIEH Yi-Chun’s deep love for her fellow dancers. Based in Taoyuan, the company has nurtured many outstanding local dancers while also cultivating a wider public appreciation for the art of dance.

Starting as a young local team with the ambition to challenge boundaries, Chun Dance continues to push beyond cultural limits. Since 2023, the company has expanded its presence internationally, transforming its audience into a global community. Yi-Chun’s work Quand Le Corps S’exprime: The Body’s Narrativewas selected for performance at Théâtre La Condition des Soies during Festival Off Avignon 2024.

Building on this success, Yi Chun further developed her distinctive movement language for Chun Dance with the premiere of Trace of Belief. The work blends contemporary dance techniques with her signature style, characterized by low centered movements and fluid circular motion reminiscent of flowing water. It was also recognized by Edinburgh Taiwan Season and selected for presentation at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025, as well as selected for Festival Off Avignon 2026.

Embracing a wide range of dance styles and cultural identities, Chun Dance embodies a glocal spirit that is rooted in local tradition while actively engaging with the global stage. With a flexible, multicultural, and exploratory approach, the company remains committed to sharing its work internationally, breaking language barriers, and connecting with audiences around the world.
