Whispers of the Late Blossom

As a woman, as I approaches the end of youth, I adopt a more serious attitude, fully embracing every moment of blooming. I have never regretted the choices I’ve made in my life.”

—Hsieh Yi-Chun, Choreographer / Artistic Director of Chun Dance

In real life, women face various challenges at different life stages, Yi-Chun navigates multiple roles— as a daughter, lover, dancer, choreographer, wife, and mother. Under societal expectations, she has been measured against an invisible set of criteria. It’s difficult to meet everyone’s standards, and Yi-Chun has struggled with her roles.

Yet, life is only lived once. As we reach the peak of our bloom and begin to fade, it is essential to break free from societal values and pursue self-actualization without hesitation—disregarding gender roles and societal expectations. Only then can we live authentically and have no regrets. Through this contemporary dance production, Yi-Chun aims to celebrate a journey of self-exploration of women in their youth, and the self-actualization as time goes by.
